Color Category – Admin Setup
This article outlines best practices for setting up and using color categories in Vestis Labs to support clear organization and consistent classification of colors used throughout your collections and product development workflow.

Introduction & Best Practice

Color categories in Vestis Labs help group and organise colors into meaningful segments, ensuring clarity and consistency across your styles and material libraries. By assigning categories—such as neutrals, brights, pastels, earthy tones, or seasonal palettes—you enable structured color management that enhances filtering, reporting, and collaboration between teams.

While color categories are optional, using them is highly recommended to ensure scalability and maintain a well-organised color library as your assortment grows. Well-defined color categories in Admin support consistent application across collections, improve searchability, and strengthen alignment across design, development, and production teams.

Step-by-step guide

Navigate to Settings > Library. Select Color Category.
  • Click the '+ New' button - a Color category Page will show up.
  • Color category name - *mandatory
  • Click the 'save' icon to finish

Edit Library Category

The created Library Category will be displayed and can be managed on the Library Category Page. The Library Category Page stores all information related to the Library Category created in the Library Settings.

  • To change the color category - Click on the 'pen' icon to set the style category to edit mode
  • The page will be in edit mode
  • Click the 'save' icon to finish
  • Select the 'trash' icon to remove the selected color Category from Vestis Labs.
