Library Category – Admin Setup
This article outlines best practices for setting up and using library categories in Vestis Labs to support clear classification and efficient organisation of your shared materials, trims, and assets across the product development process.
Introduction & Best Practice
Library categories in Vestis Labs help structure your material and trim libraries by grouping items into meaningful, easy-to-navigate segments. By assigning categories—such as fabric types, trims, labels, packaging, or other asset groups—you enable consistent organisation that enhances filtering, searching, and team collaboration when sourcing or referencing materials.

While library categories are optional, using them is strongly recommended to maintain a scalable, well-organised library as your assortment and material collections expand. Clear category definitions in Admin ensure consistent usage across teams, improve discoverability, and support a more streamlined and aligned development workflow.

Step-by-step guide

  • Click the '+ New' button - a Create Library category Page will show up.

Edit Library Category

The Library Category you create will be displayed and can be managed on the Library Category Page. This page stores all information related to each Library Category configured in the Library & Material Settings.
