This article outlines best practices for setting up and managing composition settings in Vestis Labs to ensure accurate, consistent, and standardised material composition data across your styles and items.
Introduction & Best Practice
Composition settings in Vestis Labs allow you to define and control the components used to build material compositions—such as fibers, percentages, and material groups. Establishing composition elements—such as cotton, polyester, elastane, wool, or other custom materials—you create a structured foundation that improves data quality, supports regulatory documentation, and enhances collaboration among teams working with product specifications.
While composition settings are optional, configuring them is highly recommended to maintain data consistency, support scalable material management, and streamline workflows across product development.
Step-by-step guide
Create New Composition
Navigate to Settings > Library. Select Composition.
- Click the '+ New' button - a composition Page will show up.
- Style category name - *mandatory
- Description - additional information related to the composition that represents the product.
- Click the 'save' icon to finish
Edit Composition
The created composition settings will be displayed and can be managed on the Composition Settings Page. The Composition Settings Page stores all information related to the composition elements configured in the Composition Settings section.
- To change the composition - Click on the 'pen' icon to set the composition to edit mode
- The page will be in edit mode
- Click the 'save' icon to finish
- Select the 'trash' icon to remove the selected composition from Vestis Labs.
